“Soon after, I returned home to my family, with a determination to bring them as soon as possible to live in Kentucky, which I esteemed a second paradise, at the risk of my life and fortune.”
Daniel Boone
The silent voices of my ancestors have whispered in my ears for as long as I can remember. I heard them when I stood on the Virginia coast and imagined my ancestors coming ashore in America more than three hundred years ago. I heard the echoes when I walked in their steps at Valley Forge and Chickamauga and Normandy. And I heard their sounds as I wandered the rolling hills and pastures of Kentucky and thought of my ancestors who settled there in paradise around 1800.
A descendant of at least seven generations of Kentuckians, my interest in family history has spanned decades and inspired me not only to explore my ancestry but also to embark professionally on genealogy as a career. Fincastle Ancestry Research is the expression of my passion for the stories of my family and the many others who made lives for themselves in Kentucky and the heartland of America.
I am proud to be a native Kentuckian, reared on the land of my ancestors and possessed of a deep respect for my heritage.
